Common Questions
What is the Sensory Lab?
A drop-in experience with 6 hands-on stations — Sensory Bin, Build & Create, Art/Messy Play, Movement Challenge, Calm & Reset, and a Featured Toy of the Week. The theme changes weekly. Any toy your child loves is available to take home from our shop.
Can I buy the sensory toys my child plays with?
Yes. Every toy in our Sensory Lab and play areas is available in our on-site shop. We stock fidgets, building toys, calming tools, art kits, games, and more.
Do I need to stay during class?
Parents are welcome to watch from our lobby — most do. For our youngest participants (3–4), we ask that a parent or caregiver stay on site.
Is this only for kids with special needs?
Not at all. Most of our families are typically-developing kids whose parents want a calmer, smaller alternative to big-box programs. If your child has specific needs, we accommodate. If they don’t, they’ll still love it here.
What do I need before the first visit?
Sign the Participation Waiver online and share any medical conditions, allergies, or sensory needs so we can best support your child.
Are you a therapy provider?
No. We’re a recreational center — think art, LEGO, slime & play. Many families use us alongside therapy as the fun part of their week.
Can my child’s therapist conduct a session at Squish, Scoop & Story?
Yes. Approved independent professionals may bring their clients and use our sensory toys, play equipment, games, and calming spaces. The professional remains responsible for supervision, clinical services, and billing. Squish, Scoop & Story provides access to the center and approved resources.
